Your Travel Biz is the marketing component of YTB International that operates separately from the travel side (YTB Travel Network). Sometimes, people new to this business confuse the difference between an RTA and a Rep (Independent Marketing Representative). The official statement from YTB Corporate is as follows:

The YTB companies offer two unique and powerful business opportunities, that of referring travel agent or "RTA" and that of independent marketing representative or "REP." The travel agent opportunity has an initial fee under $500 and a monthly license fee of $49.95. There is no fee or travel agency purchase required to be a REP. You may choose to participate in one or both opportunities.

Okay, now that you know you can be an RTA and/or a Rep, what are the advantages of each position? Below are listed what each position has to offer:

RTA (Referring Travel Agent)
~Associated with YTB Travel Network;
~Can sell travel and earn travel commissions;
~Can earn travel credentials (USA only);
~Can earn 10% travel commission overrides from sub-agents;
~May qualify for reduced agent travel rates;
~Can book travel online or offline (directly with vendor).

Rep (Independent Marketing Representative)
~Can only sell travel agencies, but not travel;
~Can not earn travel credentials;
~Can not receive travel commissions;
~Can receive marketing commissions for selling agencies;
~Can build a team and earn bonuses and residual income;
~Can qualify to become a Director in YTB.

Most people who join YTB choose to do both because both have opportunites for multiple income streams. However, being involved as an RTA with YTB Travel Network is in no way associated with an MLM business. It is strictly an online travel company. You can chooose to be a rep in order to multiply your efforts by leveraging your time and efforts. Leverage is important in any business.
