YTB FAQs

YTB FAQs. This may be the best place to start to learn about the YTB business opportunity. Every once in a while, there comes along a remarkable opportunity. We must keep our eyes open. We must not have blinders on. Many factors must coalesce simultaneously to present a truly long-lasting and powerful vehicle to change lives.

After you watch the YTB Online Presentation and read many of the other pages that explain this business, come back to this page to see if any other questions have surfaced for you.

Let's begin...

YTB FAQs: What makes YTB so different than other business opportunities?

Answer: Most MLM businesses are selling a product that is higher priced than a similar product available outside the MLM network. The company must increase the cost of the product in order to pay the distributors their marketing commissions. For example, if someone formulates a special supplement pill, they must promote its intrinsic value above all other pills readily available in order to justify its higher price. The same goes for lotions and potions. The distributors usually end up with a garage full of the product that they must have auto-shipped each month. YTB Travel Network is different because our product is the same product people are already buying: the same hotel (e.g., The Hyatt), the same cabin on the cruise (e.g., Carnival Cruise Lines,) the same airline (e.g., Airtran) or the same car rental (e.g., Avis). YTB is not asking anyone to change their buying habits. They do not special-brand anything and jack up the price. Also, there is no auto-ship of a product required. What YTB offers is a multi-million dollar booking engine, a real online travel business, that provides the same inventory as other major online booking website. The difference is that when you or anyone else books on your site, you get paid the commissions.

YTB FAQs: What are the long-term trends YTB is capitalizing on?

Answer: The three trends are 1) the Internet for purchasing travel online, 2) the booming travel industry, and 3) the demand for home based businesses. Let's take each one separately. First, travel has become one of the largest and most profitable segments of e-commerce on the Internet. More than 50% of all travel is booked online by consumers themselves. Secondly, travel is a 7-trillion dollar industry and ready to double because of the baby boomers who are retiring one every eight seconds. Third, with an ailing economy and outsourcing affecting the reliability of jobs, people must look to a Plan B for their financial future. Home based businesses offer an excellent opportunity to control your financial future with a small startup cost.

YTB FAQs: What is the advantage of getting my own website versus just finding the best deal on the Internet?

Answer: If you book it yourself on the Internet, the online company will send you a confirmation. If you book it on your own YTB booking website, YTB will send you a confirmation and a commission check. Plus, if you treat this as a business (which it is), you may be able to tax-deduct your travel & personal vacations at 100% (check with your tax advisor). That's very powerful, and that's the bottom-line savings. It could amount to this: 25% tax-deduction savings plus capturing the commissions (say, 10% average) which equals 35% at minimum. Of course, you can even make additional income if anyone else books on your site or you tell anyone about the business and they buy their own travel system (YTB pays you to refer the business).

YTB FAQs: Yes, speaking of commissions, what exactly are the commissions?

Answer: Well, they vary. There are thousands of different travel vendors out there and they all pay different commissions. Generally speaking, though, hotels pay 5-10%, cruises 13-16%, vacation packages 15%, travel insurance 20%, and car rentals 5-10%. Occasionally, we set up a special deal directly with one vendor for a better commission rate. One example of this is our high rate paid through Shanghai Spring International Travel for tour packages to China and Europe. Remember, the airlines stopped paying commissions years ago, so don't expect to make a living selling domestic airline tickets.

YTB FAQs: Besides earning travel commissions, how else do you make money with YTB?

Answer: There are many different income streams with YTB. That's what makes it such a great financial opportunity. the key is to think big, not just what you can book yourself. Also, to become financially independent, you must learn how to create leveraged and residual income. Most travel agents can't do this working at an agency just booking travel. YTB allows you to build a team of sub-agents and receive marketing overrides when they sell a travel center. They will also pay attractive bonuses and residual income on the organization you build. This is thinking like a BIG business owner, not a small business owner. This of your YTB business as a distribution system. You can build it as large as you want. Just like Coca-Cola has millions of distribution points (Coke machines), you too can have unlimited number of sub-agents.

YTB FAQs: So, once I get started, what help is available?

Answer: That's an important question. It is critical to follow in the footsteps of those who have already done what you want to do. Fortunately, the YTB business model is set up in a team structure to help the new rep from day one. As they learn the business from their team members, they gain confidence as they take small steps toward the goals they set for themselves. This is much more forgiving than the regular business world. You will have help from the corporate office as well as one-on-one mentoring from our team leaders and Directors. Help will come in the form of special marketing materials customized for you, team and corporate conference calls, back office online training, in-person trainings, and a special resources website. Help is always just a phone call away.

YTB FAQs: I've been wanting to start my own business, but I don't have much extra time?

Answer: That's okay. Many business owners have started a home based business part-time. In fact, that is one of the big advantages of starting with YTB. The websites are turnkey, meaning they are up and running for you the instant you join. The travel booked on your site is tracked automatically for you in your back office. You can put the time you have available into the business and can expect equivalent results. You get back what you invest in yourself and your business. Over time, as your business grows, you may be able to justify spending more time and energy on the business. There are no short cuts to financial freedom. You must be willing to pay the price. That price might mean different things for different people. For some, it might mean working on expanding your comfort zones. For others, it might mean giving up some television. As the saying goes, successful people are willing to do today what other will not, in order to do in the future what others can't. On to more YTB FAQs.

YTB FAQs: I've tried other things before that weren't successful? What guarantees are there with YTB?

Answer: Usually there are no guarantees in life. Even our jobs are in danger now with the economy the way it is, the downsizing, and outsourcing abroad. YTB has, however, put together a very creative $6,000 guaranteed that is optional for any rep. Basically, it states that if you pass out 25 Success from Home magazines each month for 12 months and enter the prospect's name into your back office database (and follow up with them), YTB will guarantee you $6,000 in commissions. You will probably earn more than $6,000, but if you don't, YTB will cut you a check for the difference. Now, there are no excuses.
